BIRTHLINE MOBILE OFFICE
11 PM on a Sunday
When the cellular rang at about 11 pm on a Sunday night, I just knew it had to be urgent.
"I have an appointment for an abortion tomorrow and my sister said that as a favor to her, I first needed to speak with you. I am not interested in being talked out of it, but I love my sister and don't want her to be angry with me". She refused to come into the office, so I told her I could go to her with our Mobile Office and would meet me in the morning. Her choice of place was just two blocks away from where she was going to have the abortion which was set up for 1:30 pm the following day.
When we met, I could feel it in my heart that she was being pushed into it by her boyfriend. She said she knew she would have a hard time dealing with this choice, but felt that she had no choice if she wanted to keep her boyfriend.
We talked a long time about relationships and the importance that they be in balance and around the focus of God. We also reviewed scriptures that spoke of how God felt about abortions. Needless to say, she soon saw that her boyfriend was not what he wanted for a long-term relationship and that he was just in it for what he could get.
After about 3 hours of heart to heart talk reviewing and going over a lot of educational material, she left me with tears in her eyes and with no commitment to me that she would not have this abortion.
I did not hear from her the next day but got a cell call on the Tuesday morning asking if she could in to get maternity clothes, and did I really mean it when I told her we would provide her baby with almost everything it would needand then continue to be there for her afterwards. "YOU BET I MEANT IT' I said "I am so proud of
you for making the decision that you have made. Your choice is one that you will find very easy to live with".
PRAISE THE LORD and again, thank you Lord for providing us with the means to have purchased our RV/Mobile office, as babies continue to be saved as a result of having it.
